Lala TravelHER Media

Lala is a Hungarian translator and interpreter with a lifelong curiosity for languages, cultures, and the people she meets along the way.

Born and raised in Hungary near the Austrian border, Lala grew up surrounded by languages. She attended a bilingual school from a young age before continuing her studies in a bilingual high school focused on business and marketing. Today, she is pursuing a master’s degree in translation and interpreting, working primarily with English and French.

Her curiosity has never stopped at the languages she studies. Over the years, she has explored German, Italian, and Korean, the latter of which she began learning independently after becoming fascinated by Korean language and culture.

Travel has naturally become an important part of that curiosity. What began as trips with friends and family eventually grew into a desire to experience life beyond familiar surroundings. Her first major solo journey took her to South Korea for a six-month university exchange, an experience that would deepen her relationship with travel, independence, and cultural exchange.

Lala is naturally social and drawn to people from different backgrounds. Her openness has also been shaped by her work with the Hungarian YMCA, where she spent several years meeting people from a wide range of cultures and communities.

Today, she continues to combine her love of languages, international experiences, and human connection. For Lala, discovering a new place is inseparable from discovering the people who inhabit it and from remaining curious about the many different ways a life can be lived.
